Contact forces are those forces where contact between two bodies is must...
Types of contact forces are as follow
1 ) Frictional Force

Friction is the contact force which opposes the motion of a body. It always act in the opposite direction of the motion..
2 ) Normal Force
===============
Normal force is also one of the type of contact force..
Suppose a book is lying on the table..Here book applies force on the table in downward direction due to gravity ( attraction of Earth towards its center ) but we see that doesnt go anywhere. It still lying on the table...This is because of Normal Force which balaces the gravity and acting perpendicularly ( Normal ) to the surface of book in the upward direction....
So for the normal force , Contact is must...
