There are four kinds of precious stones: covalent, ionic, metallic, and atomic. Each sort has an alternate kind of association, or bond, between its atoms. The sort of atoms and the course of action of bonds manage what kind of gem is framed.

  • Covalent gems are gems whose atoms are associated with covalent bonds. Covalent bonds exist where the atoms share electrons. These bonds are amazingly solid and difficult to break.

  • Ionic gems are gems whose atoms are held together with ionic bonds, or charged bonds. With these ionic bonds, one molecule is contrarily charged and is pulled in to different atoms in the precious stone that are decidedly charged.

  • Metallic precious stones are gems made of metal components. These gems shimmer with the brilliant sheen we consider metals having. They are amazingly great conveyors of warmth and power.

  • Sub-atomic precious stones are gems shaped from feeble hydrogen bonds. These have to do with little charged particles on atoms, called electrons, are masterminded between various hydrogen atoms.
