Excel provides us the facilities of entering three types of data into our worksheets which are Text, Number and Formula.
1st) Text
The data which contains numbers, alphabets, special characters etc. Text data in the cell is by default left aligned. This data cannot be used for calculation.
2nd) Number
In this data numeric values starting from 0-9 are included. It also contains the characters like #,%,@ etc. It can be used for calculations work like addition,subtraction,multiplication.By default number data in the cell is right aligned.
3rd) Formula
Formula is the equation/method used to performing mathematical calculations/ operations that is based upon the values, operators and cell addresses in the worksheets.Any formula begins with is equal (=) sign.
