Hola ..!

Xylem is one of the two main conducting tissues in plants . It carries water and minerals taken through root hairs and transport it to leaves . It is made up of majorly four elements , namely :

i) Tracheids, which are non living , elongated tissues with tapering ends . It's wall is thickened with lignin , except at certain circular points called pits.

ii)Vessels , which are circular and are vertically arranged . These are the main conducting elements of the xylem. The end walls of vessels dissolve partially or completely to let particles pass .

iii) Xylem parenchyma consists of living cells and performs the function of storage.

iv) Xylem fibre is a non living , thick walled cell providing mechanical support.

Hope it helps..!
