Our body contains six types of synovial joints. Synovial Joints are the most movable joints in our body. Joint is referred as the region where two or more bones meet.

Six types of joints are :-

  • Pivot joint
  • Hinge joint
  • Saddle joint
  • Plane joint
  • Condyloid joint
  • Ball and socket joint

Types of human joints found in our body are as follow :-

1) pivot joint (It is freely movable joint found in elbows)

2) ball and socket (In this a round bone is attached to other bone which is cup like shaped found in shoulders)

3) Hinge joint (These joints are like hinges of the doors which can only move along one axis found in ankle and knees)

4) saddle joint (these joints are found in thumbs)

5) gliding joint (they are held together by ligaments and glide against each other found in wrists and ankles)

6) condyloid joint (they don't allow axial rotation found in wrist joint between radius and carpal bone)
