How many types of methods are there in vegetative propagation?
Explain each method in 30-40 words.

Vegetative propagation is an asexual method of reproduction. The reproduction by vegetative propagation occurs only in plants.

The types of vegetative propagation are :-
1. Cutting ---> A small part of a plant which is removed by making a cut with a sharp knife is called a cutting. A cutting may be a piece of stem , root or even a leaf. The plants like rose, grapes, bananas , cactus, etc can be grown by means of cuttings.

2.Layerings ---> In this method , a branch of the plant is pulled towards the ground and a part of it's covered with moist soil leaving the tip of the branch exposed above the ground. The branch is then cut off from the plant. The part of the branch which has developed roots to become a new plant. Examples are :- Jasmine ,Strawberry, lemon etc

3. Grafting ---> It is the method in which the cut stems of two different plants are joined together in such a way that the two stems join and grow as a single plant. Examples are :- apple, peach, apricot etc
