Tropical evergreen : It occurs in areas of temperature range 25C - 27C and rainfall above 200cm. Mostly found in andaman and nicovar islands, lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka,Tamil Nadu.
It occurs in Mixed Stands and is not fully exploited because of dense undergrowth.
Eg: Rosewood, Ebony, Gurjan.
