There are five types of noun -:

  1. Proper noun
  2. Common noun
  3. Collective noun
  4. Possessive noun
  5. Abstract noun

Explain -:

Proper noun-: Proper noun is basically tells us about place, person or thing. In this noun we tells about a specific place, person or thing.

For example-: Virat Kohli , India , America etc.

Common noun -: common noun basically tells us about a place, person or thing which is common. Just remember they never tells us about specific place, person or thing.

Example-: Doll ,cat , etc.

Collective noun -: collective noun means those words which are in group and give it a specific noun for that group .

Example -: Batch of student , School of fish ,etc.

Possessive noun -: possessive nouns are also known as " ownership nouns" . In this we use opaustrauphy's ( 's ) and show the ownership of other person .

Example -: Mother's dress , etc .

Abstract noun -: Abstract noun are the words which express a feeling here , they basically depict our emotions .

For example -: anger , crying ,etc.
