soil refers to the different layers of the soil

most soil have three or four major players organic late topsoil subsoil and parent material. Some soil may have a very thin or no organic layer at all Another layer called Bedrock is present Beneath all the other layers.

  • Organic layer or humus-- Organic layer of soil made up of motion of decomposed leaves leaf litter and humus decomposed organic matter
  • Topsoil--It is the uppermost layer of soil and is a mixture of different soil particles. It also contains microorganis, Water and air. It is rich in humus and relatively poor in minerals. It is very dark in colour and is most suitable for plant growth.
  • Subsoil-- it is a layer of the soil below the topsoil it is made up of small rocks pieces and water it is rich in Minerals and poor in humus it is little in colour than the rest of the layer
  • parent material-- it is also call recorded it is made up of weathered author composed Rock fragments very little organic Layer is found so it has almost no plan or animal life.
  • Bedrock--it is solid and unweathered rock.Bismillah made up of large pieces of Rock and less deep inside the earth through it considered as the part of soil profile,it is important to understand that this layer is not soil as it does not support plant and animal life.
