Forest and mountain soil: jammu and kashmir, himachal pradesh, sikkim, uttrakhand

Red and yellow soil: odisha, chattisgarh, western ghats

Black soil: maharashtra, saurashtra,malwa, madhya pradesh

Laterite soil: karnatak, karela, tamilanadu, madhya pradesh, Assam

Arid soil: rajasthan
