Answer:

The answer is:

Explanation:

There are three main types of winds -

(1) Permanent or Planetary winds

(2) Periodic winds

(3) Local winds

(4) Cyclones and Anticyclones

(1) Permanent or Planetary winds :

Planetary winds, prevailing winds or permanent winds are those which blow continuously in the same belt all through the year. They blow from high pressure belt to low pressure belts. There are three main types of planetary winds - the trade winds, the westerlies and the easterlies.

(2) Periodic winds :

Land breeze: These winds blow from land to sea, carrying no moisture but dry and warm.

Sea breeze: These winds blow from sea to land, carrying some moisture.

Mountain and valley breeze: Valley breeze is the hot air blowing from the valley which flows up to the slopes of mountain slopes.

(3) Local winds :

Local winds occur on a small spatial scale, their horizontal dimensions typically  several tens to a few hundreds of kilometres. They also tend to be short-lived  lasting typically several hours to a day. There are many such winds around  the world, some of them cold, some warm, some wet, some dry. There are many  hazards associated with the winds.

(4) Cyclones and Anticyclones :

A cyclone is a storm or system of winds that rotates around a center of low atmospheric pressure. Anticyclones (commonly known as highs) are predictors of fair weather. Winds in a cyclone blow counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.
