navdeepsingh16091: its 8
navdeepsingh16091: valance electrons are 8
navdeepsingh16091: being fully filled outermost shell doesnt exclude them from being valance
navdeepsingh16091: since valance electrons are electrons in outermost shell
navdeepsingh16091: for helium its 2

As we know that Valence electron is the electron present in the outer most shell of an atom .

So ,
Helium electron configuration is:-
He=2
So, Valence electron is 2

And in Neon
Ne=2,8

Valence electron =8
