How many valence electrons does the Lewis structure for a chlorine atom show?

Note: Chlorine is in Group 17 (sometimes called Group VII or 7A). Since it is in Group 7 it will have 7 valence electrons. When you draw the Lewis structure for Chlorine you'll put seven "dots" or valance electrons around the element symbol (Cl).
