To Find :- How many variables are there in equation 2x + 3y + t = 7 ?

a) 1

b) 2

c) 3

d) 4

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Variable = A symbol used to find the value . It is denoted by x , y or any other alphabets .

so, in given linear equation 2x + 3y + t = 7 we have,

  • In 4x :- x is a variable and 4 is coefficient of x .
  • In 3y :- y is a variable and 3 is coefficient of y .
  • In t :- t is a variable and 1 is coefficient of t .
  • 7 = constant term .
  • (+ , + ) = operators .

therefore,

→ Total variables in given equation = x , y and t = 3 (Ans.) (Option C)

Hence, given equation has total 3 variables .
