between 100 & 800 there are three digits.
hundred position can have values between 1&7.
case 1,
hundred position value is 2,
totat no. of numbers formed=10*10=100
case 2,
if hundred place value is other than 2 (can have 6 values),
(i) fixing 10th place as 2, total no. of ways=6*10=60
(ii) similarly fixing 2 at unit place, total no. of ways=60
hence total no. of ways =100+60+60=220
