Length of floor = 24m

Breadth of floor=18m

Length of each tile= 2m

&breadth of each tile= 1m

No. Of tiles = area of a rectangular floor/ area of each tile

= 24*18/2*1

=216

Hope it helps you

khushi2662: thanks
khushi2662: but I don't understand that why you have done like - 24-2400 ,18-1800
khushi2662: why you have put zeros(000)
jayantic160: Because I have converted all dimensions into centimetres
khushi2662: it is necessary to put zeros(000)
jayantic160: 1m = 100cm
jayantic160: 18m= 18*100=1800cm
GalacticCluster: aree it was 2m not 2cm. she wrote by mistake
khushi2662: okay

<b>Hi !

Here is your answer !!

_____________________________

Length of the floor = 24 m

Breadth of the floor = 18 m

Area = Length × Breadth

A = 24 × 18 = 432 m²

_____________________________

Length of the tile = 2 m

Breadth of the tile = 1 m

Area = 2 × 1 = 2 m²

_____________________________

Therefore , number of tiles needed to cover the floor = ?

 =  >  \bf \:  \frac{area \: of \: floor}{area \: of \: one \: tile}  \\  \\  =  >  \bf  \: \frac{432}{2}  \\  \\  =  > \bf  \: 216 \: tiles

<u>ANS ) 216 tiles are needed to cover the floor.
