How many wooden cubic blocks, each of side 2 cm, should be arranged to form a cuboid with dimemsions 10 dm × 8 dm × 40 cm.

Area of cubic blocks = 6× 2×2

= 24cm ^ 2

Area of cuboid = 2( lb. bh.hl)

1dm = 10cm

10dm = 100cm

8dm = 80cm

= 2(100× 80 + 80× 40+ 40× 100)

= 2( 8000+ 3200+ 4000)

= 2 × 15200 = 30400cm^2

No. of cubic blocks = 30400÷ 24= 1266
