Just giving my opinion
Math is useful almost everywhere though not at the extent schools try to teach us. While cooking the proportions of all ingredients in what amount is Math but even a non educated person can calculate that based purely off of experience. We don't notice it but everything we learn, we use it in our day-to-day life. And square roots and stuff is just a difficult multiplication which we very very rarely use in our daily life.
Again this may not be the answer to your question it is just my opinion as I am still in high school.
