ethyl ethanoate can be obtained from ethanol by reaction with ethanol acid ( a process called esterification)
reaction:C2H5OH+CH3COOH-->CH3COOC2H5 + H2O

Ethanol on reacting with sodium forms sodium ethos idea with the effervescence of hydrogen
reaction: 2C2H5OH +2Na---> 2C2H5ONa + H2

Answer:

1) Sodium ethoxide is obtained from ethanol by reaction with sodium metal. The reaction is :

2C2H5OH + 2Na →2C2H5ONa + H2

2) Ethyl ethanoate can be obtained from ethanol by reaction with base .ie. NaOH. The reaction is :

CH3COOH +  C2H5OH −→−−NaOH CH3COOC2H5

3) Ethanal is obtained from ethanol by oxidation with PCC in CH2Cl2. PCC is pyridinium chlorochromate . It is a mild oxidising agent. The reaction is :

C2H5OH −→−PCC CH3CHO
