Gregor Mendel cross bred a Monohybrid,for the trait of tallnes.He choose a plant having the tallness trait of (T,T),which was a tall plant and a plant having the tallness trait of(t,t),which was a dwarf plant.He saw that the offsprings were all tall having the genes(T,t),which suggested that the trait 't' could not express itself in the presence of 'T'.This was called a recessive trait which could not express itself in the presence of a dominant trait.
