How meridonal and skew rays are related to te/tm modes?

In optical fiber the dominant mode is HE11 when the V number =2.405 is single mode .....since this is a hi-bard mode why Ez and Hz is zero her
in optical fiber the dominant mode is HE11 when the V number =2.405 is single mode .....since this is a hibard mode why Ez and Hz is zero here and the field intensity is max at the axe of the core so I can see the (***contradiction***) between this mode (hibard)which indicates that the type of ray is skew rays which don't have max intensity at the axe on the other side the meridional rays indicates that it have max intensity at the axe of the core.....but in one reference that say there be TE01 and TM01 and HE21 and it mention that it is single mode despite it has three mode
