How mgcl formed by transfer of electrons.why does the solution of mgcl conduct electricity

Magnesium has valency 2

And chlorine has Valency 1

so the Magnesium will give its 2 elctrons to two atoms of Chlorine.

And, will form MgCl₂ not MgCl

           

            Cl⁻

Mg²⁺                     ⇒  MgCl₂

            Cl₋

This solution conducts electricty because MgCl₂ in liquid state has sufficient amount of free electrons.
