Mica is mineral made up of series of plates. It can be split into thin sheets.

It found :
1. deposits are found in Chota Nagpur Plateau, Koderma - Gaya- Hazaribagh belt of Jharkhand are the leading producer.
2. Rajasthan is the major mica producing area around Ajmer
3. Nellore mica belt of Andhra Pradesh is an important producer in the country.

Mica factors are:
1. low power loss factor
2.resistance to high voltage
3.most indispensable mineral
4.black green red yellow or Brown in colour 5.excellent di-electric strength.

Its uses are:
1.use electric and electronic industries

Mica minerals are major rock forming minerals found in gneiss, schist and granite. The micagroup includes muscovite mica and biotite mica. They usually form in layers of sediment on ocean floors. Weathering of continental rocks breaks large and small chunks of rock off the larger older rocks.
