in the hot summer days the layer of air near the ground gets heated due which the air becomes lighter and goes up.
due to the increase in the temperature their is a fluctuation created in the air.
as the rays of the sun enter from one medium to the another medium then their is refraction
these rays get bent and appear to be coming from a point source due to this a mirage is formed
