Mitochondria does not produce energy it just stores energy in the form of ATP and supplies

mitochondria are miniature biochemical factories where food is oxidized and energy is released this energy is stored in the form of ATP that is andenosine triphosphate hence mitochondria called the powerhouse of the cell
