Decline of this city took place gradually over centuries. Many reasons can be adduced :
1 Frequent floods that would appear in Sindhu river.
2 Scarcity of water caused by drying up of the Saraswathi river.
3 Destruction of forests due to excessive burning of bricks and resultant exodus of inhabitants.
Overall, we could pride ourselves on the ability of our ancestors to plan cities, buildings and their concern for health and hygiene.
