Heya,
Here Shobana (myself) is a thamizhachi. I have a attractions towards tamil. I don't know to write somethings in tamil (that's apart from the topic) but still I like it and attracted towards. In short Tamil is sweet, sensational language. It is most often referred to be "செம்மொழி"(semmozhi)/ Classical language. Tamil is a well known Dravidian language all over the world. There are many languages spoken all around the world. In that list, Tamil is also one of the widely spoken languages in the world. Tamil is one of the ancient languages of the world.
Many epigraphic records in tamil language is found around 300 BC. One of the oldest treatise or oldest book found in tamil language is Tholkapiyyam.
Tamil was declared a classical language of India- by Government of India in the year of 2004. It was the first Indian language to have been accorded the status.
One more additional information for you:
Tamil language and literature have been classified into different periods:-
1) Sangam
2) Post-Sangam period
3) Bhakthi period
4) Mediaeval Period
5) Modern
=> Tamil is a diglossic language. I mean Tamil is official language of Tamil nadu, Sri Lanka and also Andaman. If you take tamil nadu, Tamil nadu has 31 districts and where the people of different district uses different slang of tamil. Their slang, modulation, sound pitching/swifts changes to one another.
⚫ Iniku/ingatu= Kongu tamil (Coimbatore slang)
⚫ Inga= Thanjai tamil (Thanjavur slang)
⚫ Inkane = Thiruneveli slang
⚫ Ingai = Some places of Sri Lanka
⚫ Inkuttu = Ramanathapuram
=> See From this you can understand how tamil is. Tamil is just fabulous. There are no words to say it beauty. There are more and more information available about tamil. So my thing is I should learn some more information of it. And I want all the people to know about our tamil language's beauty. In simple I will say Tamil just comes from heart.
