According to the reports published by National Horticulture Board in the year 2015-2016, studies show that India is the producer of nearly 169.1 million metric tonnes of fresh vegetables and 90.2 million metric tonnes of the fruits.
More than 10.1 million hectares of Indian land is used for the production of vegetables, and 6.3 million hectares of land is used for the production of fruits.
