How much Chlorine is released when 50g of MnO2 reacts with excess of HCl?

PLEASE GIVE ME THE CORRECT ANSWER... ACCORDING TO QUESTION....

Answer:

HCl : molar mass = 36.4

Mn O2 : 54.9 + 32 = 86.9

4 moles of HCl = 145.6 grams reacts with 1 mole of Mn O2 ie., 86.9 grams..

So  mass of HCl that reacts with 5.0 grams of Manganese dioxide :

           5 * 145.6 / 86.9  = 8.377 grams of HCl.
