How much current can a 3-1/2 core 100 mm wire carry?​

Answer: Normal current which a 3-1/2 core 95 sq.mm PVC insulated un-armoured copper conductor can carry is 210 Amps and for Al conductor it will be 165 A.

  • It is maily depends on the conductor that we use such as aluminium,copper..etc. And also we have check that "if it is insulated or   not", about core that whether it is singlecore or multicored.
  • Ican give you one case as an example,
  • if 3.5mmDIA, 100mm square area, copper wire, single core with insulation by PVC will carry approximately 200amp current.
