Agriculture plays a vital role in the Indian economy. Over 70 per cent of the rural households depend on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture, along with fisheries and forestry, accounts for one-third of the nation's GDP and is its single largest contributor.

Hey mate!

Here's your answer!!

India accounts for 7.68% of total global agricultural output.

Agriculture is very important in indian economy because agriculture and industries go complementary to each other. they go hand in hand .

Let us take the case of agro based industies. here, the raw material comes from agriculture like cotton, jute, sugarcane and the final finished product like cloth or sugar is made in the industry. so, we can say that some industries are dependent on agriculture
we can also say that the finished products or by-products of some industries are used up by the agricultural sector. the examples can be fertilisers, pvc pipes etc .. agricultural sector use these these for their better profits. here, agricultural sector is dependent on the industries.

From these points we can conclude that agriculture and industries go hand in hand. as industies help in increasing indian economy, agriculture plays an important role in indin economy.

Hope it helps you!
