Let the number that must be added is x.

As per the question,

x + 2/3 = 3/2

x = 3/2 – 2/3

x = (9 – 4)/6

x = 5/6

Hence, the number that must be added must be 5/6

Verification – 5/6 + 2/3 = (5 + 4)/6 = 9/6 = 3/2
