How much energy is consumed when a current of J amperes flows through the filament (or element) of a heater having a resistance of 100 ohms for two hours ? Express It in joules.

Answer:

Energy(E) = Voltage (V) × Current (I) × Time (t)

and V = I×R (Resistance)

So we get that E = I^2 × R × t

Putting values of I, R and t we get =>

E = 5^2 × 100 × 2

E = 25 × 100 × (2×60×60)

So the ans. is 18000000 joules = 18 mega joule
