hey frnd.....
we can't say that how much force acts because for finding total force we need some numerical values such as mass, weight.
but we say that....
1) a force called weight acts vertically downwards. (mg).
2) a force Normal acts on a body which acts to place that body on its own.
but if the book is at rest all forces are cancelling each other and the resultant comes.......0
