Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

F = 200 N

◆ Explaination -

# Given -

M = 2 tonnes = 2000 kg

R = 25/2 = 12.5 cm

r = 2.5/2 = 1.25 cm

# Solution -

Force need to be applied on the plunger is -

F = W × a / A

F = Mg × πr^2 / πR^2

F = Mg × r^2 / R^2

F = 2000×10 × 1.25^2 / 12.5^2

F = 200 N

Therefore, a force of 200 N should be applied to the plunger to raise the weight.

Thanks dear...
