Hey there !
Thanks for the question !
Solution:
Formula to be used:
- Force = Mass × Acceleration
- Acceleration = Change in Velocity / Time
- Change in velocity = Final Velocity ( V ) - Initial Velocity ( u )
Application :
Given Information :
Initial Velocity ( u ) = 0 m/s ( Since the object starts from rest )
Final Velocity ( v ) = 6 m/s
Time taken = 2 seconds
So Acceleration = v - u / t
=> Acceleration = 6 - 0 / 2
=> Acceleration = 6 / 2 = 3 m/s²
Hence the acceleration of the body is 3 m/s²
Mass is 5 kg, as it is already given in the question.
Hence Force = Mass × Acceleration
=> Force = 5 × 3
=> Force = 15 Kg.m/s² or 15 N
Therefore the force required to move the body of mass 5 kg with a velocity of 6 m/s in 2 seconds is 15 N.
Hope my answer helped !
