given : Y = 0.9 × 1011

 r = (0.6 / 2) = 0.3 mm = 0.3 ×10–3 m length is increased by 0.2% i.e.

(Δℓ / ℓ) = 0.002 i.e. (ℓ/L) = 0.002 F = (YAℓ / L)

= 0.9 × 1011 × π(0.3 × 10–3)2 × 0.002 F = 50.8 N

F = 51 N
