How much heat has been produced in a electric Machine of 25ohm resistance in 3minutes while 4A Current passed through it?

To Find:-  

We have to calculate the heat developed in 3 mins ⇒ 180 s

Solution:-  

The amount of heat (H) produced is given by the joule’s law of heating as

H= V× l × t

Where,

Current (I) ⇒ 4 A

Time (t) ⇒ 180 s

Voltage (V) ⇒ Current x Resistance

V ⇒ 4 × 25

V ⇒ 100V

Now,

H ⇒ 100 × 4 × 180

H ⇒ 7.2 × 10⁴ J.

Therefore, the amount of heat developed in the electric iron is 7.2 x 10⁴ J.
