Calculate the linkage strength of genes

Explanation:

  • linkage strength is a tendency of a DNA sequence which is close together on a chromosome.
  • To show the meiosis phase of inherited generation
  • The linkage map distance between two genes is the percentage recombination between two genes which is measured in linkage map unit (LMU) or centiMorgan (cM).
  • Therefore 6 cM is equal to 6% recombination which means the linkage strength is very high as the distance between genes A and B is very less.
