How much mark one should have to get distinction out of 80?

Securing 60%(which is called 1st division 60% to 100% )and above makes u eligible for applying to various courses in future. It also helps you during campus placement.
As far as distinction is concerned,it varies in various state boards.If u are from CBSE/ISC then getting a 75+%(applicable to both science and commerce) is a respectable mark .That makes u eligible for applying various courses in different colleges.

If you works for getting distinction (75%), then you will end up with division . So , push your limits . Think about getting 90% and do hardwork for 90% and finally you will get not only distinction but a very good distinction which will also help you in future
