Given:-

  • Length of box, l = 1.7m
  • Breadth of box, b = 1.3 m
  • Height of box ,h = 1.4 m

To Find:-

• Metal sheet required to make closed rectangular box.

Solution:-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀According to the Question

It is given that the metal sheet required to make a closed rectangular box . So, here we have to calculate the total surface are of rectangular box .

T.S.A of box = 2(lb + bh + lh)

where,

  • l denote length of box
  • b denote breadth of box
  • h denote height of box

Substitute the value we get

:\implies T.S.A of box = 2(1.7×1.3 + 1.3×1.4 + 1.7×1.4)

:\implies T.S.A of box = 2(2.21 + 1.82 + 2.38)m²

:\implies T.S.A of box = 2(6.41)m²

:\implies T.S.A of box = 12.28 m²

  • Hence ,the metal sheet required to make a closed rectangular box is 12.28 .

Answer:

Correct Question :-

  • How much metal sheet is required to make a closed rectangular box of length 1.7 m , breadth 1.3 m and height 1.4 m.

Given :-

  • A rectangular box of length of length 1.7 m , breadth 1.3 m and height 1.4 m.

To Find :-

  • How much metal sheet is required to make a rectangular box.

Formula Used :-

\clubsuit Total surface area or TSA of Rectangle :

\longmapsto \sf\boxed{\bold{\pink{Total\: Surface\: Area_{(Rectangle)} =\: 2(lb + bh + hl)}}}\\

where,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • h = Height

Solution :-

Given :

  • Length (l) = 1.7 m
  • Breadth (b) = 1.3 m
  • Height (h) = 1.4 m

According to the question by using the formula we get,

\implies \sf Total\: surface\: area_{(Rectangular\: box)} =\: 2\{(1.7 \times 1.3) + (1.3 \times 1.4) + (1.4 \times 1.7)\}\\

\implies \sf Total\: surface\: area_{(Rectangular\: box)} =\: 2(2.21 + 1.82 + 2.38)\\

\implies\sf Total\: surface\: area_{(Rectangular\: box)} =\: 2(6.41)\\

\implies \sf Total\: surface\: area_{(Rectangular\: box)} =\: 2\times 6.41\\

\implies \sf\bold{\red{Total\: surface\: area_{(Rectangular\: box)} =\: 12.82\: m^2}}\\

\therefore The required metal sheet to make a rectangular box is 12.82 .
