The metal which are placed above the reactivity series that can react with bases.

Since metal oxides are basic , then it is harder for metals which are below in the reactivity series to displace other metal from its compound .

Though zinc is less reactive than sodium but it can react with sodium hydroxide bcz it is amphoteric in nature ie can react with both acids as well as bases. It reacts with sodium hydroxide to form sodium zincate.

Zn+2NaOh ----------->Na2ZnO2 +H2
