How much of water has to be added to dilute 100 mL of 0.3M solution into 0.2M
solution?

Answer:

Molarity = n/ v ( solution )

M1 = n / V1 ( solution ) -------1

M2 = n/ V2 ( solution ) ---------2

from 1 and 2 ..

M1 / M2 = V2 / V1

substituting the values,

V2 = 2 m × 100 ml / 0.5 m

V2 = 400 ml

Hence , V2 - V1 = 400 - 100 ml = 300 ml

therefore, 300 ml is added to the solution.
