The water molecule is composed of 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen atom with molecular weight 18 amu .So 1mole of water contain 18gm of water.Hence 18 kg contains 1000 moles of water molecules which on decomposition can produce 16 kg of oxygen atom or equivalent 8kg of O2 molecules. So in 90kg of water the O2 gas present is(90/18)×8kg=40kg.Ans..

Explanation:

So 1mole of water contain 18gm of water. Hence 18 kg contains 1000 moles of water molecules which on decomposition can produce 16 kg of oxygen atom or equivalent 8kg of O2 molecules.So in 90kg of water the O2 gas present is(90/18)×8kg=40kg.
