71% of the earth is covered with water. It exists in various states such as ice, vapor, salt water, fresh water, etc. Among that 71%, how much is usable? Humans can use only 0.3% of water on earth, 97% is in ocean which is not usable, 0.005% is moisture, 0.001% is in atmosphere, etc.

Answer:

The amount of water on Earth that is usable is only at about 1 %

Explanation:

Despite the fact the Earth is immensely covered by water, only a small amount is available for human use. The Earth, is 3 quarters or 75% covered by water. In fact, the Earth can be seen as made up of large islands ( the continents), surrounded by extensive water bodies.

Out of all the water that is found existing in the world, 97.5% is ocean water and the meagre 2.5% is the freshwater that is available for use by human beings.

To make matters worse, not all the 2.5% of Earth water is available for use since 70% of it exists in form of ice or galcier. This leaves only about 1% of the freshwater availaible for human consumption.
