Answer:
Most democracies around the world undergo a process by which electoral boundaries of parliamentary and Assembly constituencies are redrawn every few years. This process — known as delimitation — is meant to ensure equal population across constituencies.
India, the world's largest democracy, has redrawn the boundaries of its constituencies four times — in 1952, 1963, 1973 and 2002. The first delimitation exercise was carried out without the formation of a delimitation commission under the Office of the President of India with assistance from the Election Commission.
