Work is said to be done when a force is applied on a body and the body undergoes displacement.

Work is produced of force and displacement.

Power is defined as the rate of doing work. It is the ratio of work done and time elapsed.

We have been given that :-

  • Mass of body = 10kg
  • Stairs climbed with steps= 10
  • 1 step = 10cm
  • Time taken = 60s
  • Acceleration due to gravity = 10
  • Power of boy = ?

Now, we know Work = Force × Displacement

Now force on boy = Mass × Acceleration

\mapsto \: 10 \times 10

\mapsto \: 100n

Now we got that force applied on boy is 100N.

Now total displacement of boy = Length of each step × Number of steps :

\mapsto \: 10cm \times 10

\mapsto \: 100cm

\mapsto \: 1m

Now work done by boy = 100 × 1

= 100J.

Now the Power of boy will be :

\maltese \: p =  \frac{work}{time}

\mapsto \: p = \huge \:  \frac{100}{60}

\mapsto \: p =  \frac{10}{6}

Therefore the power of boy is 10/6 Watt.
