In 60 liter, amount of salt is 20% of 60=20/100×60=12

let the amount of salt to be added be ex to increase the solution of 40% solution of salt

show the amount of salt in a 40% solution is X + 12

X + 12 = 40 /100×60

X + 12 = 24

Answer:

24kg salt

Step-by-step explanation:

total solution=60 litres

salt solution percentage=20%

total salt =20%/100%×60

total salt = 12 kg

to make it 40% we need to add 24kg of salt as 20×2=20 so 12×2=40
