Solution:-

Add X liter of 100% salt.

X + 60 = total liters

100X + 60× 20 = (X + 60)× 40 (total salt)

100X + 1200 = 40s + 2400

60X = 1200

X= 1200 / 60

X= 20 liters

20 liters salt must be added to a 60 litres of a 20% solution of salt yo increase it to a 40% solution of salt

Add s liter of 100% salt.

s + 60 = total liters

100s + 60*20 = (s + 60)*40 (total salt)

---

100s + 1200 = 40s + 2400

60s = 1200

s = 20 liters
