Answer:

Rs 5400

8 %

Step-by-step explanation:

how much should a man invest in rupees 50 shares selling at rupees 60 to obtain in an income of Rs 450 is the rate of dividend declared is 10% also find his yield percent to the nearest Whole number

Let say he invest = Rs x

Then number of Share bought = x/60

Dividend of 10 % = (10/100)( (x/60) * 50 )  = x/12  Rs

Dividend = Rs 450

x/12 = 450

x = 450 * 12

x = Rs 5400

Invested Amount = Rs 5400

Share bought = 90

Dividend = 450

Yield % = (450/5400) * 100 = 8.33 %

= 8 %  ( whole number)

Investment: X

NV: 50

NV:60

AI:450

d%=10%

n=no of shares

450=(n×50×10)/100

On solving we get n=90

(i) investment=90×60=5400

(ii) (profit/100)×60=(10/100)×50

On solving we get

profit = 8.33%

Rounding off to the nearest whole number we get 8%

Hope this would help
